This is a quick and easy way to cut out a background using PSP8 or 9. There is more than one way
to accomplish this job but right now I'll be showing you my preferred way of doing it.
1.) To begin we need to have a picture. I have provided one for you. Right click the graphic below and
choose "save as" and save it to your picture files.
2.) Open PSP and then open your picture file.
3.)Click on your Magic Wand
4.)I chose the settings below for this project. (You may need to play with the tolerance level and feather level depending on your particular background.)
5.)Now go to Layers and choose Promote Background Layer.
6.)Click on the background of your image. You will see "marching ants" around your background.
7.)Now go to Edit and click Cut. Do this as many times as you need to. Check your image closely
for any small pieces of background that you may have missed. If needed you can use you eraser to erase small left over specks. Just watch
out to not get too close to the edges of your image.
8.)Now crop your image as tight as you can and save as .gif file, to preserve your clear background, or click here to
learn how to work with layers and change your background color.
